Cook and crumble the sausage along with the diced onions over a medium-high heat until the onions are softened and the you have cooked the sausage all the way through (9 min. roughly). Drain and add the garlic, cook for an additional minute.
Add flour and cook for another 2 minutes to remove any raw flavor from the flour
Add basil, oregano, cayenne, hot sauce, mustard powder, and pepper. Stir in.
Add the chicken broth, scrape any bits off the bottom of the pot. Add in the cream and tomatoes.
Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer.
Add the tortellini and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
Salt to taste
